Imam al-Sadeq said, “Hussein Ibn Ali (peace be upon him)came…”

The quote that I have chosen:
Imam al-Sadeq said, “Hussein Ibn Ali (peace be upon him)
came out to his companions and said… “O’ people! Verily God –
by God I swear – did not create the servants except so they
know Him, for if they know Him they shall worship Him, and if
they worship Him, they will be satisfied from worshipping other
than Him by worshipping Him [alone].” A man said to him, “may
my father and mother be ransomed for you! What is knowing
Allah?” He replied, “knowing the Imam of the time by the
people of every era.”
I have chosen this hadith because it is the one that most resonates with me. Knowing the creator is the ultimate objective of this life, and if we create a connection with him, we worship him in the most beautiful way. In this quote, Imam al-Sadiq (as) is teaching us that if you want to get closer to Allah go through the Imam of your time! It helps highlight that the path to Allah is the Ahlulbayt, and we should use them to get to know him, for whoever believes and does not know them, their worship does not mean nearly as much. You know Allah, by knowing, respecting, following, and adhering to the teachings of the Imam of your time, which is our Imam al Mahdi (as). This hadith also helps highlight that Allah has created this whole world just so that we may know him. All the signs of the beauty of the creation of this world pull you towards belief in Allah. The belief that is already instilled in every one of us from birth. Whether we keep this innate nature purified or not is up to us. The fact of the matter is that, the belief in Allah makes you realize the importance of the afterlife, and that this world is only a bridge, that allows us to get ready for the Hereafter. This hadith resonates all these feelings in me and is why I have chosen it.
