“There is enough light for one who wants to see” Imam Ali(as)
There was once a wise man, that went by the name Ali ibn Abi Talib, or Amir al Mumineen(as). He was also known as the right hand to the man who first relayed the message of Islam. Although he has countless quotes, the one that stands out to me the most is “There is enough light for one who wants to see.” This quote stands out to me the most because it applies to every decision or trial in life. For example, when I first went to middle school, my mother pressured me every day to join the debate club, because she saw the numerous benefits that I could receive. However, naive Majd would reply by saying “What is the point, it will not prove to be beneficial.” Day after day my mother told me to join, and one day I did. Soon, it was time for my first tournament. In front of 200 students, my partner and I versed another duo, and won the competition for my team! Soon I was in 8th grade, which was two years after the tournament and using the public speaking skills that I obtained from my debate team, I was able to run for the student leadership team, and this time, it was without the influence of my mother. Because I learned to open my mind, and “see”, I am now able to see the “light” or benefits of the decisions that I might make in the future.
